She retired in October 1986 as a co-owner of Maurizio's Pizza.
She was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Center Point, to Herman Nees and Beulah Warren.
She was a 1948 graduate of Cory High School, where she finished as the valedictorian.
A long-time citizen of Clay County, she lived in Harmony and Brazil, where she attended the Epworth United Methodist Church.
Eleanor had been married to Charles "Dane" Campbell for 30 years. She had lived in Plainfield for the past several years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eleanor will be remembered by many as a faithful, kindhearted and loving friend.
She was preceded in death by twin daughters and a son at birth, sister Margery Campbell and brother-in-law Merlin Campbell.
Survivors include her daughters Dana Selanders and husband Scott, Fishers, Ind., and Pamela Rogers, Avon, grandchildren Maurizio Calabrese, Kelly Calabrese Howard and Jordan Rogers, and great-grandchildren Taylor, Hailey, Ethan and Solana.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010, with Pastor Greg Puttmann officiating. Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, Thursday, from 11 a.m., until time of services.
