TERRE HAUTE -- A hog roast has been scheduled to help benefit the Terre Haute Catholic Charities Food Bank and West Central Indiana Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry.
The event will take place from 5-8 p.m., Friday, at the Riley Conservation Club, 6201 Gross Dr., Riley.
Tickets are $20 per person. To purchase a ticket, call Catholic Charities Terre Haute at 812-232-1447.
Ticket and silent auction proceeds from the event will be used to pay for processing, packaging, freezing and distribution of surplus deer and livestock to hungry individuals.
Terre Haute Catholic Charities Food Bank serves Clay, Greene, Knox, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties. Nearly 35 percent of the residents in these seven counties lack consistent access to adequate amounts of nutritious foods.
