He was born May 9, 1918, in Clay County, as the son of William F. and Ona (McCreery) Wright.
He graduated from Clay City High School and the University of Indianapolis. He married Florine Miller Nov. 25, 1939, in Clay City.
He grew up in Clay County until 1962, when he moved to Warsaw, Ind., to become president of Lake City Bank. He served as bank president until retiring in 1982.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veterans and enjoyed playing the violin. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Warsaw.
Survivors include his wife Florine Wright, Winona Lake, Ind., daughters Sue Walters, Birmingham, Miss., and Ann Steele and husband Greg, Naperville, Ill., son David Wright, Boston, Mass., seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will take place at a later date at Grace Village, Winona Lake, Ind.
No visitation will be scheduled. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Ind.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Ind., is in charge of handling arrangements.
