Britt Tool, Inc., Brazil, a leading supplier to the Aerospace Industry, recently announced a name change.
The company will now be doing business as Britt Aero.
The change was a result of the company's emphasis on Aerospace component manufacturing.
Britt Aero also recently was certified to the industry's AS9100 quality standard.
The company was established in 1986 and was originally founded to produce fixtures, gages and tools to support local industry in Indiana and Illinois.
As Britt Tool, Inc., grew, it became known nationally as a leading supplier of those products to the aerospace industry. In 2001, the company expanded its business to include production machining and it also began producing special machines.
"Britt Tool has been a great organization for a long time. Looking at our product mix and seeing where we are going, the name just didn't seem to represent our capability any longer," company president Leighton Britton said.
Britton cited the company's continued commitment to all of its customers, suppliers and employees as another reason.
"We've dealt with many of these people for more than 20 years," he said. "We feel a huge sense of gratitude to all of them for their support."
Britt Aero General Manager Darin Britton said the recent certification will enhance customer's feelings.
"I just don't believe the industry will continue to have confidence in companies that aren't willing to support industry standards," he said.
