Northview girls tennis sweeps Rox

ROCKVILLE -- The Northview girls' tennis team bounced back from a defeat at Terre Haute North on Monday night to earn a 5-0 sweep of Rockville on Tuesday.

The Knights won each of their matches in straight sets with No. 3 singles player, Kaci Kehrt winning 6-0, 6-1 over Kayla McCowan and Lauren Reberger adding a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.

Hannah Pond's match at No. 1 singles was a battle as the Rox Nyela Fritz fought tooth and nail before Pond won 6-1, 7-6 (8-6).

In doubles play, Northview's Briana Cook and Conner Reinoehl won 6-3, 6-0 over Kelsey Stone and Brooke Tilley. At No. 2 doubles, Carli Coughanowr and Elizabeth Emmert won 6-1, 6-2.

In JV play, Kaylee Clark was a winner at No. 1 singles, 8-5 and both Justine Farris and Danielle LaTourette won via 8-0 decisions.

In doubles play, Miranda Brossman and Kaylee Edington teamed to win 8-0 over Katie Suiters and Julia Borell. Hannah Hayes and Trisha Cox won at No. 2 doubles over Wendy Lafferty and Sarah Dighton, 6-2.

Northview (3-2 overall) hosts South Vermillion on Thursday.
