St. Vincent Clay Hospital celebrated National Volunteer Week April 19-23, with its annual volunteer brunch.

The hospital's volunteers were invited to come in for their annual meeting followed by a brunch and awards presentation to acknowledge them for their hours of service for the 2009 year.

This year, the 17 volunteers logged more than 2,000 hours of service to the hospital, mostly in the gift shop, but also helping with other activities.

"Our volunteers are such an inspiration to the associates," volunteer coordinator Jennifer French said. "It doesn't matter what is going on, they still come in with a smile and a willingness to do whatever is asked of them.

"We are really lucky to have such a great group of individuals."
