CENTER POINT -- The Town of Center Point is attempting to qualify for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)/Disaster Recovery (DR-2) grant and is currently seeking grant funding for a wastewater improvement/booster station improvements project.
The CDBG Program is a federally funded grant program intended to benefit a majority of low-to-moderate income persons with various community development public assistance projects such as improvements to wastewater, water, roads, bridges and debris removal.
To receive the federally funded grant dollars, a special income survey must be completed.
Residents of Center Point that receive an income survey in the mail from the West Central Indiana Economic Development District have been randomly selected to participate in the process. It is vital that the survey be completed fully and returned in the self-addressed stamped envelope as soon as possible.
For more information regarding the improvement projects or the income survey, contact Kristy Jerrell, Center Point's Grant Administrator, at 812-238-1561.
The town is attempting to secure $1 million in grant funding.
If all surveys are completed as soon as possible, the town will apply for the grant funds by July 2.
