The PNRA award is designed to honor those nurses who have achieved a high standard of practice. The award encompasses a variety of professional roles, including within the discipline of nursing, holistic approach to nursing, core values and contributions to the community, nursing education, and/or research.
The goals of the Professional Nursing award are to promote professional nursing practice, to award excellence in professional nursing practice, to demonstrate the high value St. Vincent Health places on the attributes of practice performances, professional development and leadership.
Yegerlehner has worked at St. Vincent Clay Hospital as a registered nurse for 27 years. Her duties include being Charge Nurse, patient educator, patience advocate and discharge planner. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and completed the St. Vincent Mission Mentoring Yearlong Program in 2009.
She is a grandmother and enjoys her eight grandchildren, who are spread out from coast to coast. She also enjoys reading and gardening.
Her husband, Don, is a high school guidance director, farmer and pastor.
Awards will be presented May 4, at the Celebration of Nursing Banquet where the nominees' contribution to professional nursing practice will be recognized.
