The cooks, including Bev Timko, Jenny Sutherlin and Barbara Fatch, sold out and had to purchase extra spaghetti from Page's Store.
In addition, pies and cakes were served.
Servers for the event included De Woods, Jo An Wilkerson, Judy Jordan and Maxine Metz, in addition to Jackie Hall and Sgt. Nichols.
A total of $521.53 was raised from the event, going to funds to help purchase a new van for Clay County veterans.
The next fundraising dinner will take place at the American Legion Post 2, 1015 Forest Ave., Brazil, Sunday.
A fish dinner is planned, which is tentatively priced at $6.50. The event is scheduled to begin at noon.
The third and final fundraiser -- a hog roast -- is scheduled to take place in June at the Brazil National Guard Armory. The dinner will include baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, dessert and coffee.
The purpose of the van is to help transport veterans to hospitals in Indianapolis and Danville, Ill., or other hospitals as needed.
Those interested in making a donation may do so at the Riddell National Bank drive-thru, by making checks out to the "Clay County Veterans Group," or to the Clay County Courthouse, Box 104, VA Officer, Mike Holland, 609 E. National Ave., Brazil.
