She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Brazil, Order of the Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter No. 5, Former Pioneer Post No. 340, NAACP, AARP and the Alpha Pi Chi Sorority Alpha Beta Chapter.
She retired from Health Care Excel.
She was preceded in death by her son Larry J. Anderson, and brothers Willard "Chick" Douglas, Robert, Norman, and Richard "Dick" Moody.
She is survived by her sons Orville Anderson Jr. (Catherine), Indianapolis, Major Gen. Dorian Trent Anderson (Cheryl), Bentonville, Va., Younte P. Anderson, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Peter S. Anderson (Ylonna), San Bernadino, Calif., daughter Mina Jones-Mickins (Willie), Indianapolis, 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, brothers Wesley Moody (Mary), Chicago, and Wendell Moody, Terre Haute, sisters Martha Richard, Las Vegas, Nev., and Betty Johnson, Columbus, Ohio, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and uncle Verdell Hathecock, Terre Haute.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 9, 2010, from 5-8 p.m., at Spruce Street AME Church, 1660 Spruce Street, with services Monday, May 10, 2010, at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Stewart Lawn Cemetery.
