ELLETSVILLE -- Mother Nature postponed a conference baseball game between Northview and Edgewood on Friday night, but the Knights wasted little time in completing the victory on Monday.

The Knights led 13-1 as the game resumed in the bottom of the fifth inning in Elletsville and Northview hurler, TJ Decker, took just three minutes and six pitches to wrap up the 10-run rule win that he started three days earlier.

Decker got the pitching victory with five innings of work, allowing eight hits, striking out four and walking just two.

Northview pounded out 14 hits in the win as Zac Niehaus smacked a double, a home run, drove in four runs and scored twice. Zach Hull singled twice and had two RBI's with Joey Thomas adding a two-base hit, a single, driving in a run and scoring twice.

"We dominated this game offensively from the start," Northview coach Scott McDonald said. "Hull, Mason, and Niehaus continue to swing the bats well. Other guys are starting to swing it well also, which is a good sign as we start getting ready for the tournament."

Craig Bell and Roy Brown each had a double and an RBI, Kodie Girton drove in two runs with a base hit. Carson Kleiber added a base hit, Jordan Allen and Andrew Butts each had a hit and scored once and Drake Stevenson scored twice and had a hit.

Northview improved to 3-1 in the WIC and 15-4 overall.

"It was disappointing to have to go back today to finish, but the kids made a game of it trying to finish as fast as possible," McDonald said.

The Knights continue their conference slate today with a trip to South Vermillion for a 5 p.m. game.
