Northview girls tennis celebrates senior night with win

The Northview girls' tennis team celebrated senior night with a 4-1 victory against potential sectional foe South Putnam on Monday night.

The Knights recognized six seniors as Justine Farris, Carli Coughanowr, Kaylee Edington, Conner Reinoehl, Hannah Pond and Lauren Reberger.

"We have a great group of seniors this year," coach Emily Goff said. "They have provided leadership, motivation, and determination to the team. We will definitely miss them next year."

Pond claimed a victory at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 7-5 win over the Eagles' Megan Klotz.

Reberger and Coughanowr each scored doubles victories with their respective teammates.

Reberger teamed with Briana Cook for a 6-1, 6-2 victory against the Eagles' Kyley Brown and Kaitlynn Nissen.

At No. 2 doubles, Coughanowr teamed up with Elizabeth Emmert to pick up a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Allison Guthrie and Taylor Goss.

At No. 2 singles, the Knights' Kaci Kehrt was a 6-2, 6-1 winner on Monday night.

"I'm really proud of the how the girls have played the last few matches," Goff said. "Many of them have stepped up their game and showed what they are capable of doing."

The Knights (9-3 overall) travel to Danville on Wednesday night.
