CYL helped by new president

To the Editor:

The start of the CYL Baseball began with a bang.

Thanks to our new president, Shane Glassburn.

Shane took the opportunity and his time to help prepare kids for the upcoming season by offering two hours on Saturdays at Coaches Corner.

He coordinated activities with other volunteers to work with all age groups, batting, catching and of course, many other skills used to play baseball.

Shane stated, "I really enjoy working with all the kids and the more you practice, the better you get."

In a short period of time, my son has come a long way and I've learned how to help him become a better player.

This in return, gives him the opportunity not only to understand, but to enjoy the sport.

Shane's patience, enthusiasm and love for baseball has been a great addition to the league.

Seeing a smile on my son's face gives me joy as it does for any parent or grandparent.

Besides his time at the ball fields, Shane spends his Sundays playing buddy ball with special needs kids, building confidence and skills, while working with other kids already playing baseball.

Thank you Shane, for all your hard work and hope you continue in the years to come.

Ann Tillman,
