Pool to open soon
The Brazil City Parks Board has announced the Forest Park Pool is tentatively scheduled to open June 2, weather and water permitting.

From June 7-11, weather pending, the intersection of State Road 59 and Pinckley Street will be closed while the City of Brazil conducts water line repairs and replacement.
The closures will take place from 7 a.m.-5 p.m., each day.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes during these times.
The Clay County Health Department conducts immunization clinics for school-aged children on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are available.
Immunization records will be needed and H1N1 vaccines are also available.

A new support group for Autism is being set up in Clay County.

Presentation set for Thursday
The Brazil Public Library will be the site for a presentation on Doris Day in May.
The event is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m., Thursday, and will be offered by Mary Anne Barothy, who was Day's personal assistant and also lived with the star.
The program is free and open to the public.

City Yard Sale
The City of Linton will host its second City-Wide Yard Sale, rain or shine, Saturday.
The event is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

The annual Area 7 Agency on Aging and Disabled Senior Citizens Picnic will take place at Forest Park, Friday, May 28.
Cost is $8 per person, which includes entertainment, lunch, small games, goodie bag, exhibit booths, snacks and door prizes.
The event will begin at 10 a.m., and conclude at 2:30 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity of Clay County will host a yard sale from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., June 5, at Clover Signs, 34 E. National Ave., Brazil.
All proceeds will go to help build a home for a Clay County family.
The second Southern Indiana Vintage Camper Rally will take place Thursday-Sunday, June 10-13, at Sullivan Parke and Lake, located between Terre Haute and Vincennes.

The Bloomfield Apple Festival Committee is sponsoring an art festival, which will take place in the Bloomfield Town Park, Saturday, June 12.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
The festival will feature exhibiting artists, artist demonstrations, workshops for children, live entertainment, food and a plein air painting competition.
Handicapped parking will be available.

Bucks House of Color and the American Legion Riders will conduct a Charity Ride for Byron and Lisa Halfhill Aug. 14.
The ride will help go to pay for medical expenses for both.
It will begin and end at the American Legion Post No. 2, 1015 S. Forest Ave., Brazil. Food will be available at the end of the ride, provided by the Post 2 restaurant.
Registration begins at 10 a.m.
Cost is $15 for a single rider or $20 for a couple. Cars are welcome for $15 per vehicle.
This is an open ride.
In addition, a silent auction will take place and door prizes will be available.
