Betty Jean Knox, 84, Brazil, died at 8:18 p.m., Sunday, May 23, 2010, in the emergency room at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

She was born Sept. 30, 1925, in Brazil, as the daughter of Robert DeLane and Teacia Smith Tabor.

She graduated from Brazil High School.

She married Madison Knox, who has preceded her in death.

She was employed at Arketex and Pillsbury plants as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing the violin in the church orchestra.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Madison Knox, sister Arlene Tabor, and brother Hansford Tabor.

She is survived by brother Richard A. Tabor, nieces Doris M. Patterson (Harold), Beatrice Marchino, and Ruby Tyler, all of Terre Haute, Shirley Hicks, Bradenton, Fla., Mary Lou Pruit, Barbara Ward, Carolyn Pierce, Patsy Douglas and Dee Batchelor, nephews Jim Tabor, George Tabor and Bob Tabor and other extended family.

Private family funeral services will be Thursday at Moore Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
