William K. Brown, 51, Staunton, formerly of Terre Haute, died May 29, 2010, at Union Hospital.

He was born Nov. 20, 1958, in Clay County, the son of Jack L. Brown and Lucille Fox Brown.

He graduated from Staunton High School, class of 1977. He later attended the Floral Design School in Indianapolis. He worked at the Brazil Greenhouse for several years. He later worked at Glidden's Furniture in Terre Haute for more than 18 years.

He was a devoted follower of the Catholic faith and was first a member of St. Patrick's Church in Terre Haute. He currently was attending Annunciation Church in Brazil.

Bill was a talented designer and had a true gift of taking something simple and making it extraordinary. He especially enjoyed holiday décor and decorated many homes and businesses in Terre Haute and Brazil during the past several years, including Riddell National Bank. He also decorated Christmas trees and completed many holiday trunk designs for the Festival of the Trees community event for St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Survivors include his mother Lucille Brown, Staunton, brother Jack L. Brown and wife Theresa, Staunton, sister-in-law Joetta Brown, nieces Amie Maurer and Ashley Goodman, nephew Chris Brown, great-niece Sydney, and great-nephews Brodie, Bryce, Michael and Drew.

He was preceded in death by his father Jack L. Brown in 2003, infant sister Kathy Brown and brother Mike Brown.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday at 11 a.m., at Annunciation Church with Father Joe Villa officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at French Funeral Home.
