Hundreds of young Clay County residents walked the hallowed halls of their schools one final time this weekend.
The 2010 classes at Northview High School, Cumberland Academy and Clay City High School all graduated Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
There were some tears shed as names were called and the students lined up as seniors for one final time.
There were several speeches. Some were humorous. Others were heart-wrenching. And all delivered a message.
Messages of achievement.
All of these students walked into another chapter of life this weekend.
Some will further their education. Others will opt for something different.
The past four years have had their share of ups and downs.
But for all of you, those four years will be remembered. Don't forget them. Cherish them.
All of you accomplished something wonderful this past weekend. And whether you have chosen to more education or entering the workforce, nobody can take that piece of paper away from any of you.
That diploma belongs to you and you only. You earned it.
This weekend was your weekend.
Remember all those great moments during those four years.
They are keepsakes.
The Brazil Times wishes to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all of the 2010 Clay County graduates.
You have earned it.
