Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Ivy Tech Community College recently announced a new green technology training curriculum.

Beginning this month, Ivy Tech will offer highly respected and sought after sustainability courses, including LEED Green Associate, BPI Building Analysiy and BPI envelope-Shell training.

The new programs will be offered in partnership with Everblue Energy, Inc., Huntersville, N.C., the nation's premier training provider for sustainability.

The classes will be open for public enrollment, with a newly designed solar training course being offered by the end of summer.

The partnership provides Ivy Tech and Everblue the opportunity to offer residents of Indiana targeted, hands-on training for jobs.

"We are extremely excited to partner with Everblue to offer these cutting edge programs in renewable energy and green jobs training," Ivy Tech Senior Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development Susan Brooks said. "As we look at the future of our regional economic growth, we recognize that these certifications will provide our labor force with the skills necessary to succeed with changing industry demands."
