Thursday, June 3, 2010

The third Big Dog Ride to benefit K-9 teams who search for the lost and missing will take place Saturday.

The event is sponsored by American Mantrailing Academy.

The more than 100-mile ride will start at the Kroger parking lot in Brazil and will conclude at Quarry Lake in Putnam County. All bikes are welcome.

At the conclusion of the ride, participants will enjoy a cookout, a poker hand, live entertainment featuring the Southern Rock Band F-5 and a 50-50 drawing to win a Marlin Model 1894 lever action rifle.

Cost for the event is $25 for individuals or $30 per couple. For individuals and couples wanting to attend the after party with the cookout and entertainment, cost is $15 per person or $20 per couple.

All proceeds from the ride will go to support free and low cost training of search and rescue K-9s and their handlers as well as law enforcement K-9s, who search for the lost and missing.

The American Mantrailing Academy is home to members throughout the Midwest as well as Germany and British Columbia.
