Billie Creek Village Civil War Days will present Donna Schmink as another speaker for its upcoming event June 12-13.
Schmink is a collection manager for the Indiana War Memorial.
The event coordinators and the host unit, the 14th Indiana Co. A, also will be displaying one of only 20 Indiana Civil War National Flags.
The flag on display will be the national colors of the 14th Indiana, which 100 or more men from each county were a part of, including Parke County (Company A), all the way down to Vandenberg County.
The flag will be on display each day from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Schmink was an educator for 21 years, teaching seventh- and eighth-graders at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Indianapolis. During her teaching career, she created an Honors Civil War Class that including students in grades 4-8.
She has served two terms on the Indiana Battle Flags Commission. For the past 14 years, she has been the Collection Manager for the Indiana War Memorials, including the Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum, and the 38th Division National Guard Memorial Museum.
She was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for Outstanding Meritorious Service by the Indiana National Guard.
