No injuries were reported in an accident involving a semi-truck and dump truck Thursday.

According to information provided by the Clay County Sheriff's Department, around 10:30 a.m., Julio Cesar Hidalgo, El Paso, Texas, apparently failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic while exiting Pilot Travel Center, 4376 North State Road 59.

Hidalgo's vehicle was struck by Howard Summer, Reelsville, while he was traveling north on SR 59.

Neither driver reported injuries at the accident scene.

Traffic was slowed while members of Poor Boy's Towing Service removed both vehicles from the scene.

I was there yesterday and it was stupid the trucks pulls out thinking we need to stop for them but they have to stop for us.

I agree that some of the truck drivers out there think that just because they drive a semi they have the right to pull out in front of you, but not all truckers are stupid! My son drives a fuel tanker and he gets a lot of crap from the people out there on the road. He's out there driving a rolling bomb so people have fuel to go where they need to go. He trys to show other drivers respect and he receives very little. I just want people to know that not every truck driver is a butt hole.

I drove by after this happened, just glad no one

was hurt. I think the intersection of 59 and 42

is another problem area. This is a posted four way

stop. I have seen many people fail to stop here.

Most of the time it is not semi's. It is usually

a car, motorcycle, and/or pickup truck. The semi's

are usually very careful and obey the law. I have

witnessed people blowing this intersection in a

since of no regard for the law. I can only hope

that more people are ticketed here.
