Northview band and guard asks for community support

To the Editor:

Through the generosity of the Pepsi Corporation, millions of dollars are being given away each month to community groups across the country.

The Northview Band and Guard is currently in the running for one of these $25,000 awards.

Our proposal is to fund all our music purchases for the year, provide professional guest artists and clinicians, bring underprivileged students to concerts, update equipment and more.

The grants are awarded solely on Internet voting. Anyone with an e-mail address can vote once a day.

The voting period ends June 30, and at that time, the top 10 proposals in each category will be funded.

As I write this, we are 25th.

We have moved up more than 30 spots this week, but we will need everyone's help in the next 19 days to make the top 10.

It is easy to register and vote and your e-mail will not be sold or given to others.
