Vacation Bible School was such a blessing. A big thanks goes out to Ron Harms for the pizzas he provided the last night. The kids, and also the adults, really enjoyed them. Once again we want to thank all of those who helped with this endeavor in any way to make it the success that it was. We did plant some seeds in some children who may have never been to church before.
Our prayers go out to the Callahan and Pugh families on the loss of their loved ones last week. And we also want to pray for Darren and Justin Fitch and those in our congregation who are having difficulties, whether it be physical or otherwise. We are glad to see Dave on the mend, and we want to keep him in our prayers.
Ansil Harpold will be with us in our worship service tomorrow. It is Father's Day, and what better way to let your father know how much you love him, than by being with him in church. This will also make your Heavenly Father happy.
Next Sunday will be our congregational meeting after the morning worship service, so be sure to be in attendance.
Here is some food for thought: The Lord is big enough to cover the whole world, yet small enough he can curl up inside your heart.
Happy Father's Day!

Brazil Bible Fellowship Church
We had a great week of VBS on June 6-9. The Lord gave us great weather each night and the children were a delight. Our theme was "God's Way Boot Camp." The offering from the week is being sent to two active military personnel. The "military" lessons came from the Bible stories of Joshua and the Israelites conquering Jericho. When they followed God's instructions, the walls collapsed just like God said. Gideon and his three hundred soldiers defeated the Midianite army by blowing trumpets and each one holding a torch in the dark of night. The third lesson came from Ephesians six. God tells us about the armor that we need to be able to quench the fiery darts of Satan.
Our teens did a great job in planning and preparing the recreation time. They designed a basic obstacle course and then built a climbing wall. They also helped in other areas as well. Their servant's hearts really added to the blessing of the week.
On July 2, we will be hosting an Evidence concert. The group is a traveling team from Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo. They will be singing and doing drama. The concert will be at 7 p.m. and the public is invited.
Pastor Gordon's message last Sunday came from Psalm 32:6-7. The safest place a person can be is when they have God's protection and care. This safety is found when they turn to God for help (v. 6a). The psalmist found that relief and safety from the guilt of his sin when he confessed them. God immediately wiped away the guilt of his sin. The psalmist was confident that God could protect him even when the flood waters were high and fiercely raging (v.6b). God does not promise to keep a Christian from trials and troubles but He does promise to protect him. God also can keep the Christian form trouble and evil (v. 7a). God also gives the Christian testimonies or songs about past deliverance and rescue to help him stay faithful in the times of testing (v. 7b).
This Sunday Pastor will be preaching on what the Bible teaches about being a truly loving dad. The answer is not giving your child everything they want or desire. You will have to come Sunday to hear the answer.
Brazil Bible Fellowship Church is located directly across from the 4-H fairgrounds on South 59. We are an independent, non-denominational church that wholeheartedly believes in the inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures. It is our desire to teach the word clearly and practically. We strongly encourage each believer to read the Scriptures and give them the tools to study so they draw out of the text what it is teaching. Pastor Gordon has been here over eight years and we are excited about what God is doing in the lives of our people and we look forward to what He will do in the future.
We invite you to join us on Sundays at 10 a.m. for Sunday School and at 11 a.m. for Worship. If you have any questions you may call the church at 442-5008 or go to our website at www.brazilbible.org or email Pastor Gordon at email@example.com. We are here to help you discover the truth of God's Word so that you can know the truth that can set you free from sin, be reconciled to God and grow in His grace.

Plans are kicking into high gear for Vacation Bible School. It will be held the week of July 19-23. The theme is "Dive Deep Into Jesus' Love -- Exploring the Depth of Jesus' Love."
Mark it on your calendar and round up all the kids. It will be and exciting week!
Tomorrow is Father's Day.
We go all out for Mother's Day, but sometimes fathers are overlooked. Remember your father and all the great fathers you know of. Do something really special for them. They are the silent, solid rock on which families are built.
Sit-coms and cartoons have a tendency to make them look foolish, but we know better, don't we?
Bring your father to church tomorrow. That would be a great way to start his special day. Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. You would have time to fix him breakfast in bed and still get there.

All of these jobs are easy and require you to be there from 5:15-9 p.m. We ask one person to stay to count pull tab money and to help with the last two or three games, the rest can leave. With summer upon us we are always in need of help.

Remember Speed games start at 6 p.m and early bird games start at 6:30. Regular bingo starts at 7 p.m.
During regular bingo we play 20 games with two optional coverall games called Bonanzas and the final game is a winner-take-all. We always have good food, free coffee and iced tea. We also sell Pepsi and Coke products.

Happy Father's Day week-end to all the men. Ruth Graham said one of her favorite Dad images was a dad carrying his child on his shoulders. That child had a safe place, clear view, wouldn't get tired, and could definitely keep up. Moses told the children of Israel: "The Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son" (Deut. 1:31).
First Baptist had a wonderful Vacation Bible School. We would like to thank all the workers as well as the families who participated. Thanks also to the Mission and Hospitality committees for the delicious World Mission Offering meal last Sunday.

There is one who lifts us up and carries us. He is our heavenly Father Himself. God assures us, "Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you" (Isaiah 46:4). Come and worship Him this Sunday.

The first study is planned for June 24. For more information, call 812-442-0600. The public is invited to attend.
There was a surprise presentation to all the children by Pastor Ken Thomas, giving out books of McDonalds gift certificates. Pastor prayed for our sick, shut-ins, spoken and unspoken requests, and our military in harms way.
And thanking the Lord for Wayne and Phyllis West being back among our midst. Then Pastor introduced Travis Terrel for the special number, "Thank you for giving to the Lord."
Pastor Thomas opened the sermon with things that make him happy: at a ballgame seeing his grandson hit the ball; the car starting; perhaps a Sunday dinner with the family all gathered around the dinner table; everyone else around him as happy. Most of all though, "Knowing the Lord." Being happy having love, faith and wisdom, gets you to the bases and God's love will help you win the game.
Romans 5:1 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ," and prayer is the greatest power on Earth.
Pastor Thomas closed with prayer, and prayed with those coming forth to the alter. God's grace is greater than all our sins.
Pastor Thomas and his wife invite everyone to visit our services, Sunday School at 10:30 a.m., Morning Worship 11:30 a.m. and Evening Services at 6 p.m.
There is plenty of parking available and heat and air conditioning.
