Entertainment acts fill Fourth of July festivities

Although the 75th Brazil Rotary Club 4th of July Celebration officially began Sunday with SIRA Go-Kart races at Forest Park, festivities continue beginning Saturday.

The event will take place through July 4, with the annual gala fireworks show with musical accompaniment from WSDM The Crock 92.7-FM, scheduled for 10 p.m., one hour before the drawing of the annual $10,000 grand prize.

The fireworks show will be engineered by Aerial Fireworks, Brazil.

Festivities continue Saturday with the annual 5K Walk/Run from the YMCA of Clay County, starting at 7:30 a.m.

In addition, Gospel/Christian music will be featured Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m., with RideTheWind. Band 4 Heaven's Sake is up at 6:50 p.m., followed by P-150 at 7:40 p.m., Francie Bond at 8:30 p.m., and Ron Bridgewater at 9:20 p.m.

Lori Fuller-Smith and Sam Glover will sing during band setups.

The annual Brazil Open Golf Tournament will also take place Saturday and Sunday at the Forest Park Golf Course.

On Sunday, the Brazil Concert Band is the featured entertainment, scheduled to perform at 8 p.m.

Monday, June 28, will feature the annual Jonah Fish Fry in the Forest Park Pavilion, from 4-7:30 p.m. All proceeds from the fish fry will go to support both Northview and Clay City High School bands.

Cost is $7.50 in advance for adults or $8 at the door. Cost for children is $4.50 in advance or $5 at the door. Advance tickets are currently available from NHS or CCHS band members.

The Northview band and North Clay Middle School band is also scheduled to perform two shows June 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, June 29, will feature Tumble Express at 5 p.m., and Cindy's Dance Studio at 7:15 p.m.

The Van Dells return for two performances Wednesday, June 30, at 7 and 9 p.m. Special Rides for Special People is also scheduled for 1 p.m., June 30.

Thursday, July 1, will feature Moore's Dance Studio at 5:30 p.m., and Toni's Dance Studio at 6:45 p.m.

Local band Triggerhead will be the featured entertainment for Friday, July 2, with performances at 7 and 9 p.m.

The Brazil Community Choir, under the direction of Glover, will perform at 8 p.m., Saturday, July 3.

The Brazil Concert Band will also have another performance Sunday, July 4, at 8 p.m., prior to the fireworks show.
