He was born Feb. 27, 1952, in Kokomo, to Donald A. and Johanna Keegan Barnett.
He was a police officer with the Terre Haute International Airport and formerly the Brazil Police Department. He was the first K-9 Police officer in Brazil with K-9 officer "Bobby."
He was an avid flight sim player, loved his dogs and was a member of the Fraternal Order Police.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Tanya (Harden) Barnett, Brazil, son Greg D. Barnett and wife Amanda, Staunton, sister Madonna Seals and husband William, Kokomo, and grandchildren Alexis and Hanna Barnett, Staunton.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Thursday, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Doug Parkey officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
