NASCAR driver to make stop in Greencastle

Thursday, June 24, 2010

GREENCASTLE -- NASCAR driver Ryan Newman will visit the Dixie Chopper facilities in Fillmore and Greencastle Tuesday.

Newman, winner of 14 Sprint Cup races, including the 2008 Daytona 500, drives the No. 39 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet.

He will also make a public appearance Tuesday.

He will be in Greencastle for a video and photo shoot for Dixie Chopper advertising purposes. However, he will also have lunch and conduct a question and answer session with employees at the company's Fillmore headquarters.

The day will conclude with a two-hour public autograph session from 5-7 p.m., at the Dixie Chopper Business Center, at the Putnam County Airport (Ballard Lane off of Indianapolis Road/State Road 240).

The first 200 people who obtain a wristband at the Business Center -- which will be available beginning at noon Tuesday -- will be able to have one item autographed by Newman.

Newman, 32, is a native of South Bend.
