BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Thursday, June 24, 2010 -- Despite torrential rains and wide-spread flooding in Central Indiana this week, the racing activities Friday night, June 25th at Bloomington Speedway are still on schedule.
Because the race track is an outdoor entertainment facility with a dirt racing surface and grass parking lots, it is directly affected by weather. Already this season, rain cut short one night and completely canceled three other nights of racing.
"We are fortunate that heavy rains missed the Speedway this week," said Bloomington Speedway promoter Mike Miles. "The racers and fans deserve a good, dry night of racing, and it looks like they will finally get one Friday night."
A full slate of racing is on the schedule Friday night with all three of Bloomington Speedway's regular classes -- the Grimes Pools and Spas Sprint Cars, the O'Neal Wood Products UMP Modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Center UMP Indiana Super Stocks -- back in action.
Spectator gates for Rose & Walker Drywall & Insulation night open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 with racing beginning at 7:30. General admission is $12 for adults, and kids under 12 are always FREE general admission at Bloomington Speedway with a general admission paying adult.
