Representatives from Hamilton Center were recently awarded the Advocacy Award from the Indiana Rural Health Association. Associates include (front, from left) Dr. Robe Fazekas, David Miller, Marilyn Moeller, Mary Beth Doughtery, (back) Linda Whistler, Karen Umbarger and Tracy Batchler.
Each year, the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA) recognizes rural health individuals and/or programs with awards presented during the association's annual conference.

The Indiana Rural Health Association's mission is to enhance the health and well-being of rural populations in Indiana through leadership, education, advocacy, collaboration and resource development.

The Richard G. Lugar Center for Rural Health in Terre Haute nominated Hamilton Center for the advocacy award, and the award was presented to Hamilton Center representatives at IRHA's conference June 14-15.

According to officials, Hamilton Center received the award due to work with Telemedicine in many rural hospitals, including St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
