Mr. Farris was born May 29, 1934, in Brazil, the son of Stanley and Vada (Flockhart) Farris.
William was a retired truck driver with Roadway Trucking Company and the former manager of the Dirtbuster car wash.
William was an Air Force Veteran, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, The V.F.W. Post 1127, and the American Legion Post 2.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Stanley "Chick" Farris and Jerry Farris.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years Linda (Ullery) Farris, Brazil, step-children Tony (Nima) Bevis, Marysville, Calif., John (Cheryl) Bevis, Boubonnais, Ill., Laura Liddle, Brazil, and Michael (Beth) Bevis, Terre Haute, nine grandchildren, brother John Farris, sisters Barbara Stearley, Brazil, Arabelle Clagg, Newton, Ill., and Susan Crick, Brazil, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dan and Geraldine Ullery, Brazil, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Moore Funeral Home, 142 N. Washington St., Brazil.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the First Presbyterian Church, 210 N. Walnut St., Brazil, with Rev. Gary Scroggins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the United Service Organization, PO Box 96322, Washington D.C., 20090-6322.
