Jeffrey Scott Hoke, 43, Carbon, passed away June 26, 2010, in Owen County, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born Sept. 17, 1966, in Brazil, the son of Elmo Sr. and Eva Jean (Darling) Hoke.

Jeff attended Van Buren High School and later moved to Mesa, Ariz., where he worked as an auto parts driver for CarQuest Autoparts. He moved back to Carbon in 1986 and began working at Hartman Roofing as an Apprentice and currently worked for Associated Roofing Professionals as a Journeyman roofer.

He was a member of Local 150 Roofers and Waterproofers.

In his free time, he enjoyed riding his 1975 Harley Davidson Sportster and his 1983 Harley Davidson FLT, hanging out with friends, fishing, hunting and spending time with his sons Jesse and Derek.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmo Sr. and Jean Hoke, and a brother in infancy Larry Hoke.

He is survived by his two sons Jesse Hoke and Derek Hoke, siblings Elmo Hoke Jr., Carbon, Cindy Baker, Mesa, Ariz., Rick Hoke, Brazil, Jeanie Lalen, Seelyville, Mona Keyt and husband Russell, Brazil, close friends Samantha and Debbie Hall as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services for Jeff will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Pastors Jeff Bridgewater and Stoney Lalen officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, from 4-8 p.m.
