She was born in Clay County, March 1, 1958, the daughter of Melvin and Helen (Seymour) Backfish.Deb graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1976. She worked at Columbia Records for a brief stint. Deb married Edward Ketner Sr. Aug. 9, 1989.
She lived in Columbus, Ind., for several years. While in Columbus, she worked for Net Forge Forging Plant. Deb and her family moved back to Clay County in 2003. She was currently working at Great Dane Trailer Company, assembling trailers in the Refrigeration Department. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping for her grandchildren and spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Ed Ketner Sr., Ashboro, children Cherie Harper and husband Tony, Denver, Ind., Edward Ketner and wife Stacy, Columbus, Ind., Tracy White, Columbus, Ind., Darren White and wife Emlyn, New Zealand, Eric Ketner and Christina Ketner, all of Ashboro, grandchildren Lottie Sweetpea Ketner, Cody Luke Ketner, Justin James Harper, Ashleigh Ketner, and a grandson on the way, Noah Ray Ketner, siblings Melvin Wayne Backfish and wife Brenda, Brazil, Sharon Backfish, Bloomington, Ronald Backfish, Terre Haute, Roberta Orick and husband Jim, Heritage Lake, Roger Backfish and wife Carol, Brazil, Dale Backfish and wife Charlotte, Center Point, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
