PARKE COUNTY -- Those with unused medications of any kind should mark July 28 on their calendar.
That's when the unused medications may be brought to the Parke County Sheriff's Department booth near the Midway during the Parke County Fair.
The Parke County Local Coordinating Council, Family Health and Help Center and the Parke County Sheriff's Department will accept the items to safely get rid of them.
From 4-9 p.m., the booth will accept over-the-counter medications and cold medicines, old prescriptions, veterinarian medicines, inhalers, syringes and needles, medicated ointments and lotions and unused old vitamins.
At an earlier effort during the Parke County Business Showcase, some 72 pounds of old drugs, etc., were accepted and destroyed legally.
The Parke County Fair takes place near Rockville on United States 41.
