CYL 11-year-olds win State Championship

During the weekend, the 11-year-old Clay Youth League All-Star team won the Central Indiana State Championship.

In the first game, Clay County defeated Riley, 9-2. The winning pitcher was Matthew Clawson.

Jase Glassburn, Jayden Lindsay and Austin Stevenson all were 2-for-3 in the win. Stevenson also hit a home run.

In the second game, Clay County beat Batesville, 12-11, with Stevenson picking up the win.

Mitch Williams was 4-for-4 while Jarrett Fischer and Stevenson were 3-for-4. Brennan Walker was also 2-for-3.

In the title game, Clay County knocked off Batesville, 11-6, with Clawson picking up the victory.

Austin Cook, Glassburn, Walker and Williams all had two hits to lead the team offensively.

All Clay County batters had at least one hit in the championship tilt.

Remaining team members include Bryce Minor, Luke Lancaster and Hayden France.

The team is coached by Shane Glassburn, Matt Williams and Scott Walker.
