Brinson and Brewer to perform at Brazil First United Methodist Church

A concert featuring Schuyler Brinson, piano/organ and Mary Kathryn Brewer, soprano, will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Brazil First United Methodist Church.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and will last an hour. The evening's concert will consist of Classical and Sacred music and Spirituals.

A freewill offering will be collected to support the musicians as they travel on a two week mini tour presenting concerts throughout Indiana and Ohio.

Brinson, a native of Clay County, maintains a busy schedule as an accompanist, organist and conductor. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Church Music and Organ from Anderson University where he studied with Dr. Randall Frieling. He has performed with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra and the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra and has played for Award Winning Gospel Artist Sandi Patty.

He has served as the accompanist for the Anderson University Chorale and currently serves as a Staff Accompanist for the AU School of Music. Brinson is also the Director of Music and Organist at Chesterfield Christian Church in Chesterfield, Ind.

Brewer, originally from Greenville, Ohio, received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance in 2007 from Anderson University. While attending AU, Ms. Brewer studied voice with Dr. Fritz Robertson, was a member of the Anderson University Chorale, and was a featured soloist at several university and community events.

She also performed various opera roles with the Boze Lyric Theater at AU. She received her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University in May of 2009.

Ms. Brewer is currently teaching as an adjunct voice instructor at both Anderson and Taylor Universities, and is a member of the Indianapolis Opera Chorus.
