She was born Jan. 30, 1914, in Clay City, Ind., as the daughter of Levi and Nancy Duncan Sinders.
She graduated from Clay City High School. She married Elmer S. Cox Dec. 25, 1935. She was owner and operator of her own shoe store until her retirement. She was a member of the Brazil First Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer S. Cox; brothers, Clifford, Herman, Gilbert, Elmer, Clee, Ray, James, and Earl Sinders; and sisters, Ethel Craig, Hazel Lowe, and Edith Miller.
She is survived by one son, Cerdric Cox (Jane) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Angela Pogue (Michael) of Indianapolis and Brian C. Cox of South Palm Beach, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Nolting, Natalie Nolting, Cassidy Pogue, Evan Pogue, Victoria Cox, and Alex Cox; and other extended family.
