Community Partners for Child Safety and Brazil First Church of the Nazarene Kidz Klozet have teamed together to help children prepare for the 2010-11 school year.
The groups will conduct a clothing exchange for anyone in Clay County who would like to participate.
The clothing exchange is open for those who have items to trade or exchange and those who may need items.
Any members of the community interested in trading will be asked to bring in clothes and/or shoes that are in good conditions (no stains or tears) Thursday, Aug. 5, from 9-10 a.m., at the Brazil First Church of the Nazarene, 1002 E. National Ave., Brazil.
For every item that a family donates/exchanges, the total will be placed on a "Blue Buck," which will allow individuals to get that number of items during donor time.
They will also be able to pick up items during the time that it is open to everyone. Those individuals who are unable to donate or do not have items to exchange will have the opportunity to get items when it is open to everyone.
Items that are going to be donated and/or exchanged must be washed and folded to save time during the event. Any items that are left over will be donated to area food pantries or clothing closets.
"Blue Buck" time is scheduled for 10:30-11:30 a.m. Everyone time is scheduled for noon-3 p.m. Families will also have an opportunity to gather more information pertaining to resources available to them in their communities and information pertaining to school supplies available to families.
Volunteers are welcome to the event. For more information, call Heather Campbell at 812-230-9200 or Cindy Wright at 812-249-9523.
