Donald and Karen Swearingen, Clay City, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a week-long vacation to Gatlinburg, Tenn, with their children and their families.

They were married Aug. 21, 1960, at the Church of Christ, 5th and McKeen, Terre Haute by the Rev. Donald Logue.

Karen is the former Miss Baughn. She has worked for Cloverdale Elementary School for 18 years, and Cloverdale Church of Christ for 8 years, and is currently employed part-time with French Funeral Homes.

Don was employed by IBM, Greencastle for 30 years, and Clover Meadows Golf Course for 15 years. He has been an Elder at both Cloverdale Church of Christ and Clay City Church of Christ, and is currently employed part-time with French Funeral Homes.

Don and Karen are the parents of Gregg Swearingen and wife Jennifer Fogle, Dayton, Ohio; and Jill and husband Brad Martz, Decatur; and the grandparents of Dylan, 17 years old; Evan, 15 years old; and Victoria Swearingen, 12 years old; and Caleb, 19 years old and Connor Martz, 14 years old.
