Former Indiana State University Director of Bands, professor of music and coordinator of the wind/percussion division at ISU John Boyd will be the guest conductor at the Brazil Concert Band's Sunday concert.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., at the Forest Park Band Shell or Pavilion if rain.

Boyd will guest conduct "First Suite in E Flat for Military Band," by Gustav Holst, a new edition by Boyd's musical colleague, the late Frederick Fennell.

This is the third time Boyd has guest conducted with the BCB, the last taking place in 2006, when the band had just won the Sudler Silver Scroll award.

He will also conduct "King Cotton" as an encore.

In addition, the concert band will salute the Boy Scouts of America Sunday as the organization celebrates 100 years of scouting.

Compositions to be performed in honor of the Boy Scouts include "Trooping of the Colors," by Fred Jewell, "Third Alarm," by Edwin Franko Goldman, "Light Calvary Overture," by von Supper, and "The Boy Scouts of America," by John Philip Sousa.
