"Because of the construction taking place at the school everyone involved believed it would be wiser to hold the event at a different location," Substitute Principal Debbie Zimmerman said. "This year we will be located at the North West Corner in the Cow Palace at Forest Park."
The event will take place Monday, Aug. 9, from 6-9 p.m.
For the third year in a row, a parent or guardian must attend with their student to fill out the emergency contact information and enrollment card. At that time students will receive their free school supplies. Though donations will be accepted, they are not required.
The materials and supplies were purchased with Title One funds, in conjunction with the Forest Park Student Council.
If a new student is enrolling then parents are encouraged to bring with copies of their birth certificate, shot records, and Social Security Number.
"We have had so much success in the past," Zimmerman said. "It is just another great way to start the school year off in a positive way."
