William Eugene Zambenini Sr., 73, Brazil, passed away at the Exceptional Living Center, Brazil, Aug. 9, 2010, following an extended illness.

He was born in Vigo County, Aug. 19, 1936, the son of Isidor V. and Hazel (Johnson) Zambenini.

Mr. Zambenini attended Fontanet High School. Bill married Mildred Jones Deal Feb. 21, 1965. He worked at Allis Chalmers for a short time before transferring to Amax Coal Company where he worked as a welder for 30 years.

He loved to quilt and made the quilt in the shape of Clay County that is displayed in the Indiana State Museum. He was a founding member of the Indiana Snow Birds Club of Alabama, Avon Collectors Club of Indianapolis, Bridgeton Masonic Lodge 169 and the Croy's Creek Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife Mildred, daughters Candis L. Nuttrell (Jim) and Teresa Zambenini, son William Zambenini Jr., all of Terre Haute, stepchildren Elaine Cassidy (Jack), John Deal, Sheryl Jordan (Bob), Brad Deal (Robin), and Denise Deal, all of Brazil, 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren (and one on the way), a brother Robert L. Zambenini (Joyce), Los Alamitos, Calif., as well as several extended family members.

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Warren Whittington officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, from 5-9 p.m., with Masonic Services being held at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities One Kroc Drive Oak Brook, Ill. 60523.
