The Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District is applying for a 319 Grant to implement the Best Management Practices (BMP) listed in their Lower Eel River Watershed Management Plan.
With the receipt of the grant, "funding opportunities," will be available to Clay and Owen county farmers within the watershed.
Those interested in participating in the installation of any BMP's and receiving 60 percent of the cost through a 319 Grant should send a letter to the SWCD office by Wednesday, stating the BMP's wished to install, the acreage involved and the amount of in-kind support provided.
