Carl Timothy "Tim" Vanatti, 69, Brazil, died unexpectedly Aug. 20, 2010, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He was born May 19, 1941, in Clay County, the son of Claude Vanatti and Mildred Moss Vanatti.
He graduated from Brazil High School.
He served in the Air National Guard for several years.
He worked as a welder in the coal mines as a young man. He retired from PDF in Brazil, working as a fabricator.
Tim had been a member of Fairview Christian Church for many years. He enjoyed being out of doors, woodworking, gardening and deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife Sue Ann Knox Vanatti, daughters Becky White (Jimmy), Beth Walker and Brenda Smith (Kurt), grandchildren Amanda Gootee, Josh Lewicki, Tyler Coltharp, Jadyn Smith, Brandon White and Logan White, great-grandchildren Bailey, Emma and Aubrey Lewicki, sisters Mary Reisinger (Charlie) and Alma Blubaugh (Jimmy), many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mark, Milton, Aaron and Merlyn Vanatti, and grandchildren Haley Dyer and Garrett Gootee.
Services will take place at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at French Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Riley Children's Hospital or to the Fairview Christian Church.
