Model airplanes of all shapes and sizes were on display at the Brazil-Clay Airport Sunday as the Brazil Winged Modelers hosted the Don May Memorial Air Show.
The event was a fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy.
It featured radio control pilots, who provided demonstration flights.
Brazil Winged Modelers President Mitch Baker told The Brazil Times Don May, who died in 1989, was a club member.
"We will be doing this annually," Baker said.
Baker added he hoped both the Brazil Winged Modelers and Terre Haute R/C Club, of which he is also president, were able to obtain additional exposure through the event.
"We wanted to help the clubs out," he said.
Baker said there are approximately 25 members of the Brazil Winged Modelers. He has served as the club's president for three years.
Sunday's event did not include any type of competition, but Baker said most of the modelers competed at various events nationally.
"We just wanted to put as many aircraft as possible," Baker said. "And the airport folks have been great with us. They want us to do more events."
Both clubs offer training to pilots young and old. However, Academy of Model Aeronautics membership is required to be members of each club.
All donations from the event Sunday went to MDA.
