Defending their home courts, the Northview boys' tennis team picked up a win in a home match on Tuesday with a 5-0 whitewashing of Danville.
The Knights had little trouble in any of their matches and didn't lose a set in any of the five match-ups.
The No. 1 doubles team of Joey Thomas and Sam Miller strung together a dominating 6-0, 6-0 decision against Gage Hollandbeck and Nick Newman while their No. 2 doubles counterparts, Cole Watts and Bryce Britton cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
"I thought our doubles team were dominant from start to finish," coach Craig Cook said. "They didn't let Danville get comfortable at any point in the matches. It was a very strong team effort."
The singles results were much the same as Carson Kleiber rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 decision at No. 1 singles and Caleb Mershon took a 6-1, 6-2 victory. At No. 3 singles, Dillon Reynolds scored a 6-4, 6-0 win over Jacob Johner of the Warriors.
"I was extremely pleased with our play tonight. I thought our singles players were very consistent and really exposed the weaknesses of their opponents," Cook said. "They didn't let up and kept the pressure on Danville throughout the matches."
The Knights (3-0 overall) are back in action tonight against Bloomfield beginning at 5 p.m.
