Beginning today, ST Construction will start work on the sidewalk project.
Work will take place in the following locations:
* Ridge Street -- between Pinckley and Alabama streets,
* Mechanic Street -- from Lambert Street to approximately 130-feet east of Ringo Street,
* Franklin Street -- between Ridge Street and United States 40, and
* Franklin Street -- between United States 40 and Kruzan Street.

'Who Speaks For You?'
St. Vincent Clay Hospital will host "Who Speaks For You?" Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m.
The program will provide information about advance care planning and advance directive forms for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers.
Speakers include Dr. Charles French; Karen Iseminger, Ph.D, FNP, Director of Ethics Integration; Paulette Gaskill, RN Case Manager; Jeffrey Boyll, Attorney; and Chaplain Jeff Seger.

The Clay County Search and Rescue, a not-for-profit organization, will conduct a hog roast and corn hole tournament fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Forest Park Pavilion.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m., with the tournament starting at 1 p.m.
Cost is $10 per person or $20 per couple.
Barbecue dinners will be served at 2 p.m., at a cost of $5 per plate.
Free entertainment will also be available.
Donations are also being accepted at Harris Bank, 103 W. National Ave., Brazil. Bank officials confirmed donations can be made on behalf of the "Clay County Search and Rescue," inside the bank branch or in the drive-thru during normal business hours Monday-Saturday.
The department will use all proceeds from the event to purchase necessary equipment.
Due to the Monday, Sept. 6, Labor Day holiday, the Carbon Town Council board meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Carbon Town Hall.
In honor of 9-11, Clay County first responders are invited to a complimentary breakfast at Pappy's Bar-B-Que, 111 E. National Ave., Brazil.
The event, co-hosted by Pappy's and Cloverleaf Healthcare, Knightsville, will take place from 8-11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11.
Reservations are requested to ensure enough food is prepared.

The second Nature Days will take place Sept. 11, at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds, from 9 a.m.-noon.
Those attending will be able to search for critters and bugs in the creek, walk the nature trail, learn about edible plants, forestry, lawn and garden questions and answers, bats, make a bird feeder and more. At 11 a.m., there will be a raptor program. For more information, call 448-9041.
