The North Clay cross country teams opened the season with a victory at Craig Park on Tuesday evening.
The girls' team swept the first three spots with Allie Dupin (14:27), Emily Conrad (14:56) and Kourtney Johnson (15:53) leading North Clay to a 17 to 45 win over North Vermillion. South Vermillion also competed, but didn't have a complete team.
The boys also were winners, edging out the Wildcats by 11 points, 22 to 33 with North Vermillion in third-place.
Cam Trout was the individual winner for the Knights in a time of 12:27 with Josh Johnson in third-place with a time of 12:43. Christian Herron placed fifth in 13:55 with Tyler McNabb (14:07), Gaidj Evans (14:10) rounding out the top-10.
Also finishing in the top-10 for the North Clay girls were Kaysia Reberger in fifth-place with a time of 17:04 with Isabella Shumaker in sixth-place in 17:22. Lexie Williams took seventh for the Knights in 17:26, Josie Stakeman was ninth in 18:20 and Chelsey Hines was 10th in 18:30.
