Staunton boil order lifted

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Staunton Water Supervisor Jake Raubuch confirmed to The Brazil Times Thursday the boil order has been lifted on customers of the Staunton Water Utility.

The boil order was initiated Saturday due to the replacement of an 8-inch water line at the intersection of Columbus and Monroe streets.

With water service being temporarily shut off for the line replacement, water pressure dropped below 20 psi, which made the order necessary, according to Indiana Department of Environmental Management requirements.

Raubuch said results from all Bac-T testing with the State Department of Health came back satisfactory.
