GREENCASTLE -- Seven-time Major League All-Star and former runner-up for the Cy Young award Lee Smith, will highlight the Grand Slam Music Fest in Greencastle, Saturday, Sept. 11.
From 3-11 p.m., a section of Greencastle's square will be dedicated to a celebration of food, music and games in honor of Almost Home's 20-year anniversary as Putnam County's preeminent culinary destination.
All ages are welcome and admission is free.
Games will include a ping pong and corn hole tournament.
Smith pitched for the Chicago Cubs from 1980-87 and later for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, and Baltimore Orioles, among other squads.
He is the all-time leader in saves with 478. In 1,022 appearances, Smith tallied 1,251 strikeouts.
Musical appearances from Blues Side Up, the Chiggers and Ellusion will take place on the outdoor courthouse stage and additional entertainment at the Swizzle Stick (for those 21-over) will begin at 5 p.m.
