Elizabeth Hope York, 93, Brazil, passed away Sept. 4, 2010, in Sun City Center, Fla., following a long battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Vigo County, the daughter of Bert and Blanche (Sweet) Kidwell.

Mrs. York was married to Gilbert Grayless, who passed away in 1948.

She was a member of the First Christian Church. Mrs. York spent much of her life raising her family. She also worked at the Senior Citizen's Green Thumb until she was 92.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Blanche Kidwell; husband Gilbert Grayless; son Darrell Grayless; granddaughter Rebecca Grayless and grandson Darrell Grayless; as well as sisters Faye Armstrong and Norma Kidwell; brothers Harold Kidwell, Delbert Kidwell and William Leo Kidwell.

Survivors include her sons William Grayless and wife Carolyn, Riverview, Fla.; grandchildren Gilbert Grayless, Edward Grayless, William Grayless Jr., Sharon K. Barse, Sidney Grayless, Darrell Grayless III, Darlene Collins, Melissa Tilley and Crystal Ropp; 18 great-grandchildren, as well as several great-great-grandchildren and extended family members.

Graveside services will be at Bee Ridge Cemetery Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. French Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
