James "Buck" Gwinn

James "Buck" Gwinn, 59, Indianapolis, passed away Sept. 7, 2010, in Scottsburg, Ind., following a tractor-trailer accident.

He was born in Meadow Bridge, W.Va., Oct. 28, 1950 the son of Millard and Lena (Okulovich) Gwinn. He married Sharon Jo Dodson Feb. 19, 1969. He joined the United States Army in 1970, and was honorably discharged later in the year.

He worked for Economation, in Indianapolis. for 14 years before becoming a truck driver. He worked as an owner/operator for several companies, most recently Transport Connection.

He enjoyed working as a truck driver, hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and singing Karaoke.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Sierra Gwinn, and a sister Dorothy Gwinn.

Survivors include his wife Sharon "Sherry" Gwinn, children Penny Gwinn and fiancÚ Eric Alford, James Gwinn and fiancÚ Tiffiny Kord, Roger Gwinn and fiancÚ Mary Williams, Tracie Gwinn and fiancÚ Steven Welch, and Rebecca Gwinn and fiancÚ Jason Groves, all of Indianapolis, 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, siblings Carolyn Gwinn, Sandy Eaglin, Sam Gwinn, Steve Gwinn, and Del Gwinn as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Mark Cornelison officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday, from 1-8 pm.
